The Hive was a very good value for the money. Free luggage storage on arrival and the day we left. Staff was friendly, but any time we asked for recommendations they just gave us the typical tourist trap restaurants that they probably have an agreement with. Rooms were spacious, came with huge lockers, and HUGE showers. Beds were big and comfortable. Location was excellent and everything is in walking distance. We didn't take advantage of the bar, but it looked pretty good. Would recommend to others, and would stay again.

Location is very good and right next to the very long bar and restaurant mile, but also everything else is in walking distance. The hostel is new and clean and the staff was also nice and helpful. However, this is not an appropriate hostel for people who do not party on weekends because there is usually a big party just inside the hostel walls.

We had a great time here, the bar turns into a huge party over the weekend but pretty dead through the week. The rooms a modern and clean, and the bathrooms are super nice. The location was great, close to the train and lots of weekend markets and restaurants. The staff were okay, but not super friendly. Overall I'd definitely recommend staying here.

What a superb new hostel for BP> a gorgeous old building surrounding a lovely large courtyard with 2 huge trees on the dancefloor plus a charming but slightly cantankerous bar. The staff are very sweet even when I had to bother them with my phone woes. Fab location with all little and bigger bars, clubs, and vintage shops on the street. The accommodation is very nice with Alien spaceship sleep cubicles that give some privacy but also some sense of space. Will be coming for another party soon

Although the name may make you think that is gonna be impossible to sleep, you can be sure that you will rest if your aim is to wake up early and tour the city. Guests and staww were kind, plenty of WC and showers, very clean. I don't know if you can buy there the breakfast, never asked, but very close, maybe 400 meters (5 minute on foot) there is a Spar (supermarket) that is EXTREMELY cheap (for example, cakes and buns for only 30 cents of euro, very cheap milk, instant coffe, etc). Recommended!

I spent a couple nights here last fall, the hostel is huge and has a great atmosphere along with the very friendly staff. Alway something going on here. The location is excellent, I believe its right in the jewish quarter and close to lots of delicious food and activities. The rooms were awesome, with keycard access to the your room and the lockers I found that very upscale and usually found at hotels vs. hostels. The bed was comfy and the wifi was good. They don't try to cram a thousand beds into a room so there was a lot of space. The only issue was one bathroom for 10 people, which got a little bit hectic. There are large kitchen/dining areas for making your own food as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The hive is situated in a great part of Budapest with everything you could want nearby. The staff were really helpful in helping me come up with things to do around the city. The hostel party area was under renovations during my stay which was unfortunate but the place was still going and was a great vibe! Will definitely be back

Definitely recommend this!! Great location right in the centre next to street with great bars, places to eat, karaoke. Walking distance to the main attractions and metro. The bar is excellent for night with cocktails and dancing and pool table. Other reviews complain of noise keeping awake but we didn't notice at all. Only downside and it's very slight was staff at reception being slightly grumpy on arrival but they were very helpful when asked questions. If visiting with friends would definitely return.

Unbelievably modern layout, great, spacious rooms with all amenities imaginable, centrality of access on central court-- all fantastic advantages. The biggest advantage is that in just under 10 Euros/ night I was able to book a bed in an 8-person dorm. The location, in the heart of the historical Jewish District now entertainment district with easy access to all three major metro lines make the entire city easily accessible.

Coming in the winter, however, I found the place to be dead. I suppose that's the outcome of a large facility in the off-season. The kitchen was large and well equipped but I found the lack of coffee mugs puzzling. Staff were friendly, but not conductive to a sociable atmosphere.
